It isn't even the charging time for his abilities that's beginning to annoy me--it was predictable the story would abuse that to repeatedly extricate him from doom, over and over. It's the fact that he quite arrogantly faces off against opponents he should be running from, at the mortal expense of those he treasures. Not saying he had a choice in all previous encounters, but there's a fine line between being brave...and being stupid. XY is powerful, but he's basically a mage to a Dou Zong. And only an idiot puts his archers and mages in front of his cavalry/infantry.

It seems like this whole season has been devoted to helping everyone accept himself lol. Then again, I'm only superficially following now so I'm probably wrong..

Fair enough but that's not my problem with this anime i have a question. Why are every new big boss enemy casting skills left and right with impressive might with 0 cast time it seems they configure them instantly while XY is legit the only one that needs like 2 min minimum to do his "impressive" palm move that gets blocked instantly by an instant cast of something :D I just don't get it. Honestly it looks silly as the last 2 fights where him running or being protected while casting this barely impressive move that does nothing at the end xD

The author later figured XY is not OP enough and he couldn't just make him OP all of a sudden so he gave him a puppet instead 😒.

It's specifically the god-seal abilities that have cast time. The Buddha-lotus skill requires time because he has to fuse the flames onsite as it is extremely volatile in the fused state.
Doesn't excuse how useless he is though!

there is also he is using abilities that are outside of his energy levels where as he is usually facing opponents that are well above his level so time to cast could also be correlated to power levels.

apparently the writers for the new season are female now, and a feminist movement is taking over. I've heard they've changed things and created bugs/inconsistencies in the stories.

Martial Universe was the first Donghua I ever watched, and even though Season 1's graphics were subpar, the storyline and character development pace have never failed to amuse me.

No, the two hooded elders are the academy guardians. Remember when the XY, Xun’er and other new disciples went to get the skills from skill’s library and there were two guardians merge from the statues in front of it. It’s them.

Spoilers warning!!! They’re the one who will kill that enemy’s ancestor. Mang Tianzhi will show up far later on in the story. He’s affiliated with Lei Clan. He’s the one who discover Fallen Heart Flame under that academy tower but couldn’t absorb it because it already evolved so he sealed it.

The previous owner of FHF was Yao Tianhuo (Tianhuo Zun-zhe/ Venerable Tianhuo), he was killed by Fire Lizards Clan (magma sea inhabitant) but his spirit still alive and trapped deeply under the sea of magma under the academy tower. He will give XY a very strong flame controlling skill called Five Ring Expelling Technique. XY will rebuild his body from Yun Shan’s (Yunyun’s teacher) corpse and he will accompany XY all the way in the story.
